About

Why Veto exists.

Escrow offices already review high-risk disbursements. The review happens before money moves — on payoff demands, changed seller proceeds, last-minute wiring instructions, and other outgoing funds where something doesn't match.

The problem is the record. The review is in your inbox, your call notes, your memory. Six months later, the file can't prove the review happened.

Veto puts the review on the record — a file-ready document, before funds move.

I built Veto because I watched escrow offices do careful work that never made it into the file. The review happened. The record didn't.

The goal is one real file, one record, and one operator's judgment: does this belong in the file, or is it extra paperwork?

What Veto is not.

Veto is not a fraud detection platform. It is not a compliance product. It does not screen wires, score risk, validate identities, or guarantee anything.

Veto records the review. It does not approve, authorize, guarantee, insure, verify, release funds, or make wires safe to send.

You are responsible for what gets released — not the software.

EscrowMap

Veto also maintains escrowmap.org — every active DFPI-licensed escrow location in California, searchable, on one map. Each listing links to its DFPI record.

EscrowMap is a free public resource. It is not a lead-generation tool.
